TakeTwo's CEO Ben Feder states that Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is set for a fiscal Q1 '09 release. This would mean that it falls in the same fiscal quarter as the Japanese release of GTAIV, which is November 1 to January 31.
TakeTwo was never going to struggle to shift copies of GTAIV but figures released today show that from release to August 16th it has managed to sell 10 million copies worldwide and rake in an $433.8 million in revenue from the third quarter.
Also Kotaku reports that San Andreas sold 12 million copies worldwide, and TakeTwo has every intention of promoting GTAIV throughout the holiday season.
Eurogamer.net reports that GTAIV's downloadable content will be available towards the end of November, that it will be an Xbox360 exclusive (Nothing new there), and consist of at least two episodes each around 10 hours in length, with extra unlockable Achievements. The game content itself is still a mystery although new weapons, characters, missions, and vehicles will more than likely be contained in the DLC.
There is no mention of price, however, for 10 hours of gameplay I think we will be expected for fork out a little more than most DLC out there at the minute.

While everyone seems determined to jump on the "blame GTA" bandwagon there is one family who owe their lives to the crime simulator. Around August 27th a family traveling in a Jeep Grand Cherokee veered off the road at 60mph flipping the vehicle upside down, with it's roof caved in.
She realized the back window had broken and was able to climb over the spare tire to get out. She then called for her mother to reach out her hand and Audrey helped pull her out the back window. She proceeded to help get the rest of family out of the vehicle. Audrey also tugged on her father's bloody arm to lead him to the road, where they flagged down a passing vehicle to get somebody to call 911.
Pretty intense stuff I'm sure you will agree; also nice to see a GTA game being praised for it's content as opposed to the usual blame it receives.

As you can clearly see in the image above the vehicle was in a dreadful state after the crash. If you would like the read the full article then head on over to MyWebtimes.com.
I know I'm a bit slow off the mark with this one but better late than never. GTAMods.com have yet another interview with a member of the GTAIV cast. This time they are speaking with Victor Verhaeghe, the voice of Eddie Low, who is one of the games "Strangers" that you meet on the streets of Liberty City.
In order to view the interview you must first regiter on the forums.
GTApt have been given the opportunity to interview former MTA:VC developer, and SA-MP founder 'kye'. The interview is a great read and discusses kye's original motivation for starting a multiplayer mod what he hopes to achieve in the future.
If you do decide to read the article then pay close attention to some of the comments that he makes regarding future game modes especially the role play functionality;
uNi: Role-playing got pretty big in the SA-MP in last year or so, is this something you look into for a future release? Like adding a feature or two that will create the gameplay on those types of servers or maybe something that wasn’t possible for them in a previous version.
kye: That’s exactly what we are trying to do with SA-MP 0.2.5 and the Grand Larceny game mode. We wanted to provide a base game mode for role playing servers that had dynamic properties/businesses, lots of reusable vehicle lists covering the whole of San Andreas, showing how to make use of sqlite, supporting more pickups, more virtual worlds, many more players per server (500) and near unlimited use of vehicles/vehicle models due to server side streaming.
If you want to give it a read then head over to GTApt for the full interview.
Just a quick post; according to a reliable source GTAIV's downloadable content should be available sometime in January or February. Thanks to Jotstiq for the news!
RPG-TV.com are reporting detailed information about the Xbox360's DLC. The information has since being taken down, however you can still see the relevant details thanks to StrategyInformer.
The following details came out of the news report;
"Very little details were given but I was assured it would be sizeable"
Chris goes on to say;
"Dates-wise I also discovered that the first piece of GTA downloadable content will be arriving in November as well,"
and that the DLC is;
"bringing roughly 15 hours of additional play time. I'm expecting either an additional island or a new family bringing new missions. Will be interesting to see whether or not this progresses the core story."
From what both Microsoft and Chris have said I think Novermber would be a good estimate for the DLC release.
NPD, Chart-Track and Enterbrain have announced sale data from the US, UK and Japan.

Microsoft have made an announcement regarding GTAIV's downloadable content appearing in Autumn this year. You can read their statement below;
In autumn there will be news from Liberty City; the first episodes of GTA IV will be available for download exclusively on Xbox Live, underlining Xbox 360's leadership role in the field of digital entertainment.
I believe that PS3 will also be getting downloadable content but this does state that it is an Xbox 360 exclusive. Perhaps PS3 will merely receive the content at a later date. It is also interesting to consider how the PC version of the game will come into the equasion being part of "Games for Windows" and all.
